Teaching & Other Details
I teach lessons in piano, composition, ear-training, theory, counterpoint, or any mixture as suits the student, online or at my home studio in Westmount, QC. Students of all ages and levels are welcome: from young beginners to adults beginners, those who used to play but have since left it aside, those who are serious and are preparing auditions to CEGEP or universities, and everyone in between. In my lessons I use primarily principles from current (the last ten years) neuroscience and psychology to give my students robust and research-based practices, protocols, and tools that can be implemented to help you progress towards your artistic goals perceptibly and efficiently. My studio is a welcoming, safe, and affirming place for people of all ages, genders, sexualities, races, religions, and is a neurodivergence and trauma-informed space. I am a classical pianist by trade but am very comfortable teaching jazz and popular styles, and while I rely on methods for helping students improve, there is a lot of looseness and flexibility within these methods to tailor lessons and pathways to each each student - each student is encouraged to grow in their own way. *Important Note* My home studio space is also home to a service dog in training named Aida - while she is extremely well behaved and friendly, this is important information for those with allergies or who are not comfortable around dogs.
