I've been playing piano for about 15 years. I'm also very experienced with synthesizers and other keyboard technology, and have spent some time demonstrating how they work. I'm well suited to teach beginner to intermediate piano (probably up to conservatory level 5 or 6), as well as how to operate synthesizers, organs, music recording software, and other music technology.

Music Background & Credentials
Currently enrolled in Music and Computer Science at Uvic. I have a strong knowledge of theory rudiments and more intermediate to advanced concepts, as well as all the necessary rhythm and technique to teach piano.

Have done some demonstrations of synthesizer technique and operation. I haven't yet taught piano in a formal setting
Teaching & Other Details
I plan to focus on teaching scales and chord structures over note-reading to beginners. I believe building a musical foundation on reading repertoire isn't enough; one needs to learn how chords and songs are structured. This also makes the process of learning more fun, as the student will be equipped early on with the necessary skills to learn their own favourite songs without the need for sheet music. I'll also teach students how to read written music.
Availability
I'm am able to be fairly flexible to fit a students schedule, especially on weekends and Tuesday and Wednesday from about 3-6.
Preferred Teaching Place
I'm open to using Skype or Google hangouts as much as necessary, but I'm also willing to travel to student's homes or teach them from my home.
